It is said that there are two types of fear. fear that is real and worth worrying about and fear that is just an illusion. Most of us tend to mentally exaggerate things to the point that they seem worse than they really are. That can be considered illusive fear - it's not real and it is unhealthy. However, there are definitely some very legitimate things in our world that cause true fear, worry, and anxiety. That is healthy fear. .We can spend much of our life controlled by fear, operating from a fear base, and making fear-based decisions. However, fear can be a powerful catalyst for change if we acknowledge it. If we face and address our fears, we can claim our true power and fulfill our true potential. There is a healthy and positive way to look at fear.Take a moment to study the acronym of FEAR (focus, empowerment, authenticity, and rebirth). As each part of the acronym is dissected, pay attention to what you have experienced in the past as you faced your fears. Did you experience any of the points described below? If so, you may be able to see why fear can actually be considered a gift.Focus.Think of the fear one feels in an emergency. Adrenaline starts pumping. Some people report higher energy, more physical strength, sharper thinking, and the ability to take action very quickly. They are consumed by the situation. Many times they know exactly what to do because their instincts take over. There is similar potential in the fear you experience with life transitions. However, in non-emergency, everyday situations we usually don't listen to our instincts. Instead we perceive stress and fear as negative and allow them to control us and to rob us of choice. By fighting your instincts and fearing the fear, you will become paralyzed. Either you will make a decision that is wrong for you or you will make no decision at all.Fear can bring focus and clarity. By learning to listen to your instincts, the fear will lead you to the right decisions and many doors will open for you. Fear, whether it is real or just an illusion, can lead to clarity, empowerment and, ultimately, your purpose.Empowerment .Usually empowerment occurs by accomplishing something and having a sense of pride in it. Many people feel empowered by working through their own fears. This process also increases self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-awareness.Usually empowerment occurs by accomplishing something and having a sense of pride in it.Many people feel empowered by working through their own fears. This process also increases self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-awareness.As mentioned above no matter which type of fear you are dealing with there is always the potential that it will bring focus, clarity and empowerment to your life. This is because part of the process of facing your fear is to examine it. Sometimes, especially with fear that is just an illusion, examining it reveals its façade and allows you to conquer it.If you determine your fear is not real, the next questions are. 'Where did it come from?' 'Have I had this fear before?' 'Do I need to release some old pattern or belief?' It's the very act of examination that can usually set you free. That is very empowering.Authenticity.Through focus and empowerment comes authenticity - the real you. Many times we don't realize our strength until we conquer our fear. Therefore, fear itself can teach us valuable lessons about who we really are. You will shock yourself and others by discovering your authentic self.Once you have conquered a fear, strength begins to show in everything you do.Those feelings of empowerment, focus and clarity become a part of you. Those feelings are actually always present deep down, but sometimes we aren't aware of them until life challenges us. .Rebirth.Finally we arrive at what is known as rebirth. Rebirth is a feeling of renewal because you are now aware of your own inner strength and your life purpose can become very clear. Again, this strength and fearlessness was probably present all along but you weren't aware of it. Or, maybe you were aware of it, but you now understand these attributes in a new way.Fear makes it impossible to let go and to have choices. Hanging on to fear will hinder your emotional wellness. Knowing that you have the strength to conquer your fears will help to shift your perspective. You can use fear to your advantage. Doing so will allow you to become focused, empowered, more authentic--in a sense, reborn.Suggestion s for Mastering Fear.O Gain focus during fearful times or times of transition by allowing fear. don't push it down. Be OK with it.O Think productive thoughts. train yourself to be an expert problem solver.O Embrace that everything is NOT how it seems.O Find a way to create new paradigms and then shift into them (.And bringing others along is a great part of the fun!).O Realize that great strength comes from weakness.O Listen to your instincts (meditate, quiet time, journal, stop being busy).O Empower yourself during fearful times by educating yourself.O Reach out for support (but use that support as a tool, not a crutch). Align with people who truly care about you. Great achievements rarely come alone. Having a team of partners, a mastermind group even of one other person, can exponentially increase your effectiveness.O Examine the roots of your fear, determine if they are real or just an illusion, then ask yourself questions.O Recognize authenticity during challenging times by paying attention to your own transformation.O Never accept failure as an option, even if the odds may seem stacked against you.O Listen to feedback from others.O Journal and reflect on your discoveries to bring them into perspective. You can use the FEAR framework in your everyday life, in business, and even to examine the fear around global crises.
